The Girl Scout mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Behind every Girl Scout and volunteer is a team of local staff ready to help them earn that next badge, embark on a camping adventure, or organize an impactful service project.

We are Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ) serving girls in grades K-12 in Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and northern Warren counties. We bring the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to 18,000 girls and 10,000 adult members.

We are looking for Program Facilitators to come and join our team!

The Program Facilitator supervises and provides a variety of activities for a unit of 10-20 girls in a safe and healthy environment.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Creates a fun environment that promotes friendships, girl planning, various activities, and an appreciation for the out-of-doors.
• Implements activities for rainy days.
• Supervise during all field trips. Responsible for all paperwork for the programs
• Helps to organize/facilitate girl-led activities that are both engaging and informative
• Sustain current and new Girl Scouts Lead programs
• Helps build girls of courage, confidence, and character who will make the world a better place.
• Attends sessions for full hour, arrives 15 minutes early, and stays 15 minutes after it concludes
• Occasionally ride in a vehicle, including a school bus. 
• Performs other duties as assigned, including key accountabilities.

Staff members are accountable for achieving their performance goals that collectively enable GSNNJ to reach our council goals. Each staff member is expected to take an active role in all areas of operations, especially by being alert to opportunities to identify and engage potential volunteers, girl members, donors, vendors, collaborators, etc. and providing contact information to the appropriate staff person.

Requirements

•  Must be First Aid Certified
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must be attentive
• Ability to attend assigned sessions, most of which occur weekdays for approximately one hour any time between 11:30AM-3:30PM 
• Must be able to communicate well with other staff and community partners.
• Membership in GSUSA is required upon employment and annually thereafter.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel throughout the jurisdiction to attend meetings during the day/evening/weekend
